What You Can Hear When You Just Stop and Listen.

It's fascinating what you can hear if you just stop for a while and listen. This may sound terribly cliched but I'm not talking about bird watching I'm talking about people watching, or listening to be exact. I find it rather amusing what terrible things you hear when you just sit and listen. As I sit, on my tod usually, in one of the various computer suits at my college, I have on various occasions heard some rather entertaining conversations. I know I really shouldn't listen but I can't help my self and anyway if you want it to be private don't discuss it in a public place.

Well to expand on my previous statement saying 'what people say'; As I sat at my pc, working away I couldn't help over hearing the conversation going on behind me. Well it consisted of two girls talking to random people of facebook, these people i deduced tended to be male and rather older than them selves. Something they kept from the said men because all these girls seemed to want was a shag. Now the other impression I got was these girls couldn't be older that first years. I though, how did these girls get to a stage where they're practically hookers?! I think its sad how some people become so blasé about sex that it almost becomes meaningless. How are they supposed to have a mature relationship when they have a shrouded view of intimacy?

On a different subject but along the same lines I over heard another conversation between three friends, also discussing facebook. One was so far up his own backside I wonder if he ever saw the light of day. He was discussing the fact that many people add him on FB and he has no idea who they were. I have to say it does confuses me why people add you only due to you having an attractive photo.... rather creepy if you ask me, I suppose its just grooming. On the other hand this said person who had been added by all these people was doing the same thing just the other way around. He would only accept the people for the following reasons; a) He knew them, b) A popular friend is friends with them or c) they are hot. It irittates the tits off me how vain people can be. Why should the way someone looks or the friends someone has matter so much?

Annyhoo I understand my post may be slightly incoherent today but it just got me thinking and I thought it may have had a similar effect on you.

Over and out... much love xxxxxx

Christmas Is Around The Corner Again

As we all know Christmas is fast approaching, and with that comes a lot of stress, pressure, money and organization. So I was thinking, instead of getting caught up in the great torrent that comes with the holidays season just take a moment and remember what its all about, and I'm not taking about Jesus and the birth of Christ, I'm talking about what Christmas means to you! What's your favorite part of Christmas? Is it the food or the presents or the family? Maybe if you just sit back and think of that everything will feel slightly less stressful and imminent.

Personally my favorite part of Christmas is not good old Saint Nick or the Christmas tree or the presents, or even the giant piles of food. I have to admit Christmas day isn't my most favored day of the year because it normally entails a lot of crushed expectations, squabbles and falling out. But by the end of the day when all is said and done and all the gifts have been given and food eaten and family members drift off to bed, I stand in my sitting room surrounded by discarded wrapping paper and kindly given gifts, and look at the fire. Its warm and flickering and slowly dieing away. And just for a moment I sit there and gaze at it because it has an incredibly calming effect. It reminds me why every year people put themselves through the torment because, really, what would we do without it.

Hello.

Hello, I'm Nell.

This is my blog. This may be fairly self evident but I feel it is a good start. There is no point in telling you my entire life story in this initial post because 1) You'll probably become highly bored reading it, 2) I'll probably become highly bored writing it and quite possible fall asleep, 3) I'll end up repeating myself in later blogs providing the novelty of the initial blog hasn't worn off and I still have something to say and finally 4) well that would just be boring :).
